Cobalt Flux sux

The Cobalt Flux pads in their Bunker habitat:

ddr-front-deployed

Back in the day, I got Mrs. G a copy of Dance Dance Revolution for the Playstation, and she was hooked. This was a game should could beat my ass on consistently. In fact, I couldn’t even make it through a single song.

This of course, made her happy. So I, being “best husband evar” went out and bought her as much DDR crap as I could find. At the time, this included Konamix, and Disney Mix. Once she got tired of that, I stepped it up a notch and hit all the import shops in town. I bought 3, 4th, and 5th mixes, all at a hefty markup, and invested in a hard pad.

Singstar Rocks! Why don’t we have more here?

I have a massive woody for Singstar. It has done what the majority of all other rhythm games have not… real songs, by the real artists!

For as brilliant as Guitar Hero is, that final piece would make it better. For a game like “Get on Da Mic”, which has possibly the worst fake artists imaginable, it’s a death warrant. Those of you stuck on the Karaoke Revolution series owe it to yourself to try Singstar. Who needs animated bobble-headed avatars? Not you, and definitely not me! I wan’t to sing Sk8er Boi with Avril on the screen, in all her video goodness!

360 Guitars – the X-Ploder

As some of you know, I have a hate hate relationship with the PS3. Because of it, I had to buy a charge station to keep my single Sixaxxis charged up (since it won’t charge when the console is off… brilliant.) It ruined all the warm and gooshy feelings that I have for God of War, since I attempted to play GOWII on the PS3 with the Sixaxxis (which, besides having no rumble, is heftless, and has the cheapest most cynical afterthought as a response to the 360’s trigger… the hideous “extended” L2 and R2 buttons.)

PS3 “Backwards Compatibility” and all the games I want to play.

Lately, when I come home from work, I’ve been going down to the Bunker with my 3-year old. She loves dancing and singing, and we have been doing a lot of Singstarring together. (She seriously knows the words to half the songs on Singstar Pop.) ?

However, this week I?contracted the?T-Virus and?my chords haven’t been up to the task. So, in order to keep the music thing going, I busted out Parappa the Rappa 2 and ran it on the PS3. This was fine, but for anyone who has played the original, and loved Fleaswallow and Moosilini, you know that it?isn’t good enough.
