DDR 360! Unsuck the Flux

Look closely, there’s a pad in the darkness!

I’ve already complained about how Cobalt Flux has hozed the DDR action two Bunker Parties in a row.

But, I’ve decided that I am not going to be a victim! I am going to take my life back!

Since the control box on one of my CF pads is shot, I am going to replace it by hacking together a 360 Control Box.

Unfortunately, this means sacrificing an existing 360 dance pad. In this case, it will be a MadCatz Beat Pad.

It opened up pretty well. Here is the front side, and the ribbon that leads into the rest of the pad. This is very well marked, the whole thing will go lickity split.

And the other side, once separated from the ribbon. I tested it by running a wire from ground and tapping each one of the button pads. Success!

Now all I have to do is go to the Rat Shack tomorrow and get a D-Sub connector… or I could hack apart my broken CF Contol Box.

Here’s the CF box. This cracks me up. It looks like they had a new board fabbed, but soldered it to a gutted Playstation control board. Work smarter not harder I suppose!

Hopefully this wil conclude tomorrow, I need some sort of exercise for my diet regimen!
