Basically this is a puzzle racer. In multiplayer, each player appears as a ghost to every other player, so there are no collisions. You race a given track over and over until the time runs out (four minutes seems to be good, giving you just enough time to figure it out, but not enough to get bored.) As you complete each lap (and in the larger tracks, each checkpoint) your best time is noted, and compared to the best time of the group. When the time is up, the three best times are given 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively.
The thing is, the tracks are all very fun, with bizarre jumps, road transitions, corkscrews, etc. Most of the fun is figuring how to get there, and once you've done that, figuring out how to shave that 100th of a second to beat the best time. I find it hard to stop playing, even single-player, because each track is an interesting challenge.
I will be amazed if this does not become a Bunker classic.
Not many of these, but a shining star within!
