Bunker Party 2008-03-07

This one was big, and I was all over the place, so I really don’t know what happened. Here are a few things I do know:

Rock Band was constant, although somehow the PS2 version got booted from the DDR room. I don’t know if it even got played past some n00b training.

Pandemic claimed another victim with the Blue disease outbreaking all over the place. I didn’t get the feeling the game was as well received by this group.

Shadows Over Camelot made it to the table, and Stub was the Traitor. He also won over a team of five, all n00bs to the game save Mrs. G. I question the focus on the Grail quest, but who knows. I’ve lost every SOC game I’ve played.

Junior flubbed his chance to win the late night Ticket to Ride game, especially after all the smack talk. Luckily his buddy T took victory, and not Seraphim, who would have never let him live it down.

Blokus had a lot of play… but… there’s not much to say about it other than its amazing ability to engender sexual innuendo. (Particularly amongst the drunk.)

The night ended as all good BPs do, with Singstar. By then I was completely burnt, and probably sick, but Survivor with Reebs is always magic.

Pandemic is just a brutal, brutal game. As far as Shadows over Camelot go, I’d say I didn’t really win as much as everyone’s inexperience and lack of complete rules understanding until 2/3rds through won it for me.

Would you play either of them again? Would they be better the second time?

As for Pandemic, I played two-player with Mrs. G last night, and just happened to pull the same roles as my one victorious game with DangerKitty (Researcher and Dispatcher). We got rocked in the Middle East by the Black virus after having cured all of the others. It was a bummer, and Mrs. G refused to play again. For how long I don’t know.

I’d play both again. Pandemic since it crushed me I want to beat more though.
