Rock Band PS3?

PS3?

Everyone knows that I love my 360, and abhor the PS3, but the whole wired guitar thing on the 360 was really chafing me. So, I hedged my bets and preordered both a 360 and a PS3 version of Rock Band, hoping that I would figure out which one I wanted, or eventually just assumed I could have one in each room, and let everyone get a chance to play what will most likely be one of the most popular Bunker games ever.

So, now I’ve got them both here, but I’ve been afraid to commit to the PS3 version. Mrs. G has been busting my agates overtime about spending money, and even I question the value of having another set.

So, with that said, what do you guys think? Is it worth it to have two rooms going? Will they both be full? If there was only one, will there be a line?

Let me know what you think in the comments. I will probably have to RMA this soon.

I’d more wonder if you can fit all that stuff in the DDR room along with the wii. As in can you have people playing both Rock Band and wii at the same time?

I’m considering leaving the Wii out of the equation for now. I _was_ going to say that it hasn’t gotten much play lately, but I realize that I was wrong. I have Youtube video proof on my Talkies post here: http://www.bunkerguts.com/blog/?p=102

I’m also thinking about moving the projector so it faces a wider wall, or mounting my currently unused screen so that the image can be expanded.

Would a Wiiless BP be a bad idea?

The wii def gets play. Its a great goto after a 2 hours dystopia run. This being said, i dont think anyone would complain if it wasn’t hooked up as there are a ton of options.

my opinion – leave the wii and stick with one version of rock band. while rock band is probably one of the most amazing and cool games ever, i think quite a few BPers avoid the GH games because they dont think they’ll do well. I’ve noticed a lot of watchers for those games and a few regular players. so not too many people will be in line for the guitar parts

3-4 people can play at once. AND most of the GH watchers love to play sing star so they’ll get to play rock band too. With these facts together i think everyone will get a turn without waiting too long.

return the extra rock band to avoid the dog house.

Yeah, I’m starting to imagine having to help knuckleheads start Rock Band games in _two_ rooms. Bleah!

Maybe I’ll return this, and see how the PS2 version is in December. MSRP is $149, but they may have some crazy blowout weekend deal making it much cheaper. And… being that the PS2 isn’t a natively online system, they may have stripped out all the stuff that is pissing me off about the 360 version.

I’ll definately play it all night long (or as much as there is an available spot). I’m still bitter about the new guitar tho, I’ll take the older guitar model any day.

And that is exactly what I’m worried about. With Singstar, we have about 5 people who all want to sing in 2 spots. Being that there are now 4 spots, but much more accessible (and much less humiliating) roles, does that mean we are going to have 10 people waiting for 4 spots?

Also, I can’t be sure yet, but I have a feeling that Rock Band will be less entertaining to spectate at than Singstar. With Singstar it is fun to watch people screw up, or clown, but will there be the same thing with RB? I think the fun of RB is actually participating.

    I’m back on keep.

i could probably also play RB all night (giving up my seat when ever there’s a line) but I’m not sure having two RBs is going to solve the problem with sing-star-fellows wanting to sing and be entertained. I’m afraid that they’ll watch people play, sing for a song or two but wait until sing star ’80s hits gets turned on to really get into their groove.

As much as I love Singstar… I was certain that it would be deprecated by the mere existance of Rock Band. But… I could be wrong.

First of all Nintendo could try to pi$$ me off a little more by making every new game include my hated enemy the nunchuck. Second when is Ben Heck or Gangrene the magnificent going to hook me up with a one handed Wii controller. Third my interest is piqued in these band type games but until Gangrene can find whatever cord was missing last time from Stub Hero, I’ll be on the sidelines.

As a Singstar enthusiast, it ain’t no thang if Singstar is out of the mix for the BP. I’m willing to humiliate myself in other ways, namely “dazzling” the crowd with my shredding and stick skillz on RAWK Band. Also, I like watching video games almost as much as I like playing them, so I can’t see rioting for Singstar/being bored watching RB. I mean, it’s more entertaining than the middle part of The Host, right?

i…just want to rock and roll ALL night…and BunkerParty EVERY day…on rawk band that is. forgo the two rooms…as you said (me being a knuckle-head non-ITer) it would prob be way more of a hastle to make sure two rooms were up and running properly.

that being said…i propose an experiment. hook up the main room with RawkBand, see if there’s a riot. If you’re cleaning blood off the cymbals (not a DDR pad (8 )after the nights over, hook up the other room. if not, return the subpar ps3 version and ‘RAWK’ out on the 360 version until it bursts into flames………but i do like a good riot *evil smile* MWAHAHA
